The benefits of a relationship with Jesus Christ

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
 .
Psalms 49:15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
.
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
 .
A  personal relationship with God begins the moment we realize our need for Him, admit we are sinners, and in faith receive Jesus Christ as Savior, our  God, our heavenly brother.
 .
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
.

Christ gave you new life. “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

.

Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
 .
1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
 .
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
 .
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
 .

Christ gave you eternal life.  “And this is the testimony; God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:11-13).

.

Christ gives  you the empowering of the Holy Spirit of Christ,  Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
 .
Christ gives  you the fruit of the Holy Spirit  Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,  23    Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24    And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
 .
A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD EQUIPS TO DEAL WITH SPIRITUAL WORLD  Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
 .
Christ gave you the ability to have your prayers answered
 .
John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
 .
John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
 .
John 16: 23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.  24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
 .
“Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
 .
Christ gave you peace  John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
 .
Jesus Christ now  lives in you. You have become a temple, or dwelling place, of God’s Spirit. He lives inside of you! “Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16). “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20).
 .
Nothing can separate you from the love of Christ! “Neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
 .
God has chosen to share His kingdom with you! “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32). If children, (we are) heirs also (Romans 8:17).
 .
He shall set his angels to look after you
 .
Psalms 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
.
CHRIST HEALS YOU, HEALING IS  HIS CHILDREN’S BREAD  1 Peter 2: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Jesus Christ is superior to everything and everyone

Gentle-Jesus

Hebrews 1:1-3 (NKJV)

1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,

2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;

3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

.

Jesus Christ and the New Testament are superior to Moses and the Old Testament.
.
Jesus Christ and the New Testament are also superior to Mohammad  and the  Koran
.

The Superiority of the New Testament over the Old , other writers  is  because Christ is superior to all else. He alone forgives you now of all of your past sins.  Jesus Christ is superior to any and all religions, angels, Prophet, Religious leaders, Jewish leaders , Moses, or man, Caesar and all the many others who have claimed to be God, or his prophets, as they are all dead and Jesus Christ lives on. He is superior to Old Testament Jewish Covenant and the related Temple Sacrifices.

.

Clearly, the New Testament is superior to the Old Testament and has the authority to interpret it.

.

In Luke 16:16, we read, “The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.” This Scripture teaches that the law and the prophets ended with John the Baptist. Many people take the stand that God just wanted to write another book (or section of a book), but both books still have authority. But the Old and New Testaments are not just books, they are covenants. When a covenant ends, its authority ends. “In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away” (Hebrews 8:13). And it did vanish away soon after this was written when the temple in Jerusalem, which was both central and essential to the Old Covenant, was destroyed in A.D. 70.

 .
Hebrews 9  : “Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building …. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they who are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance” (vv. 11, 14-15). In verses 27-28 he says, “As it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment, so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”
 .
Hebrews: “By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament” (7:22); “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people” (8:6-10).
 .
What is the greatest sin a man can commit? Rejecting Christ
 .
Hebrews 10:26-27, 29. Verse 26 says, “If we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.” If a man receives the truth, understands it, and is intellectually convinced of it, yet willfully rejects Christ, what can God do? The writer continues, “But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries…. Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?” (vv. 27, 29). When someone knows the truth and rejects it, he will face severe punishment.
 .
The next greatest sin a man can commit is to turn away from Jesus Christ willingly after he or she has come to know him personally
 .
Hebrews 12:15-17–“Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and by it many be defiled; lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. For ye know how afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected; for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.”
.
Matthew 25:
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

God

1. He spoke to Abraham personally at Mamre. (Gen. 18)

2. … to Jacob in a dream at Bethel. (Gen. 28)

3. … to Moses through the Burning Bush. (Exodus 3)

4. …to Isaiah through visions. (Isa. 6)

5. …to Elijah in a still small voice. (1 Kings 19)

6. …to Hosea through family situations. (Hos. 1:2)

7. …to Amos in a basket of summer fruit. (Amos 8:1)

.

God spoke in various times and in many ways to His people.

a. He spoke through parables, visions, and types.

b. He spoke through the Law, Prophecy, History, the Psalms,  and Poetry.

c. He spoke through signs as Circumcision, the Sabbath, and through Aaron’s Rod that Budded.

d. He spoke through the Passover and the Tabernacle.

e. He spoke through the Patriarchs and the Prophets.

.

But now:

C. God Speaks Through His Son.

has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;”

God spoke to His people in many and varied ways, but we read in verse 2 that God “has in these last days spoken to us by His Son.”

.

Jesus Christ Is The Last Prophetic Revelation.

.

Jesus said, “For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them” (Matthew 13:17).

.

There can be no other and anyone or anything claiming otherwise is false. Paul says in Galatians 1:8, “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.”

.

And in Colossians 2:8, “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.”

 .
Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
